Men's Soccer Hosts California on Tuesday, Radford on Saturday in Conference Play

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Men's Soccer hosts Cal on Tuesday (Sept. 23), then returns to conference play against Radford on Saturday (Sept. 27). The match against Cal is Mental Health Awareness Night and Saturday's match kicks off Alumni Weekend.

The UNC Asheville men's soccer team fell to USC Upstate 4-0 in their conference opener on Saturday (Sept. 20). Brede Fiksdal and Rodrigo Mendes each took two of the Bulldog's eight total shots, a career-high for Fiskdal. Mendes was named to the Big South Conference Midseason Watch List last Wednesday (Sept. 17), alongside Arnor Hardarson, sophomore midfielder Charlie Wood, senior defender Viðar Ragnarsson, and sophomore goalkeeper Lucca Barros.

- Â This will be the first-ever meeting between Asheville and Cal in men's soccer. This will be the first time Asheville has hosted an ACC opponent since welcoming North Carolina back on Oct. 20, 1999. The Bulldogs are looking for the first win against an ACC opponent since a 2-1 double overtime win over Clemson back on Oct. 9, 2007.
