Men's Soccer Falls to Queens (N.C.) on Sunday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Men's Soccer fell at Queens (N.C.) in non-conference action on Sunday (Aug. 31) by a score of 1-0.

The Royals struck first in the ninth minute, when Sigurdur Hakon Halldorsson found the back of the net off an assist from Rodrigo Canovas. The teams traded runs throughout the remainder of the half, with both teams creating space and chances. Despite trailing at the half, Asheville outshot Queens 4-3 in the first half and outworked the Royals 3-1 on corner kicks.

While neither team scored in the second half, Asheville controlled the possession in the Royals offensive end creating five corner kicks while holding the Royals without a corner kick in the half. While Asheville totaled five shots in the second half, they were unable to find the back of the net in the match.
