Lauren Madson Earns Golfer of the Week Honors following Season Opener

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Lauren Madson has been named the Big South Women's Golfer of the Week following her Bulldog debut at the Tiger Classic (Aug. 25). The conference office made the announcement on Thursday (Aug. 28).
Madson placed fifth out of 70 golfers at the Classic (par 72, 6,228 yards) to finish the day at 4-under par (73-67). Madison's two-round score of 140 (-4) set a new program record for lowest 36-hole total, and was one of three individuals to shoot an eagle on the day.
Kayle Benge held the previous record at 142 (-2), set in the 2022-23 season.
The Bulldogs will be back in action on September 15-16 at the Velvet Classic, hosted by Murray State.
