Women’s Golf Adds Limestone Transfer Pennie Osterberg
05.06.2025 | Women's Golf
ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville women's golf head coach Ross Cash announced on Tuesday (May 6) the addition of Pennie Osterberg to the 2025-26 roster.
"Pennie is an incredibly exciting and dynamic addition to our roster," said Cash. "The first time I saw her on the course, I was immediately reminded of my time coaching on the LPGA Tour, when one of my players was paired with Laura Davies. Pennie is every bit as long off the tee as Davies was—yet she generates that power with greater efficiency and control, along with a fantastic touch around the greens. It's truly something special to witness. She has the potential to transform our strategy for every course we play. Beyond her talent, Pennie is a humble, unassuming young woman, and I can't wait to see her in Bulldog Blue."
Osterberg comes to Asheville after spending three seasons at Limestone. The incoming senior is from Storfors, Sweden.
While at Limestone, Osterberg is a two-time South Atlantic Conference Third Team All-Conference Honoree and has helped lead the Saints to two NCAA Regional Appearances, with Limestone making it to the NCAA Championship in 2023. This year, Osterberg is one of four individuals to represent the SAC at the NCAA South Regional.
This past season, Osterberg had a 74.7 scoring average over 32 rounds played. She has three top-five finishes, with her highest finish being runner-up at the Oldfield Intercollegiate March 17-18. She currently ranks No. 46 in the region and No. 78 in the nation in Division II.
