05.14.2025 | Women's Golf
ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville women's golf head coach Ross Cash announced on Wednesday (May 14) the addition of Lauren Madson to the 2025-26 roster.
"I am so excited to have Lauren as a Bulldog for the next three years," said Cash. "She is an elite talent that will do unbelievable things here. I recruited her heavily out of high school, and we are so fortunate that fate brought her full circle back to Asheville. Lauren is just a remarkable student-athlete with a course record 62 in her portfolio of accomplishments and a perfect 4.0 GPA. She will instantly make her presence known when she gets to campus in August."
While a Jayhawk, Madson competed in two events, as she finished T48 at the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational with rounds of 82-76-76 (+18) in the fall, and in the spring, she finished T40 at the Match in the Desert with a round of 82.
A native of Mansfield, Texas, Madson lettered all four years at Mansfield High School in golf and tennis. She was a district champion in 2021 and 2024 and holds the lowest female scoring average in Mansfield High School history with a 74.1. She was the 2024 North Texas Female High School Golfer of the Year.
