Garrett Crum Named Big South Conference Freshman of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Baseball's Garrett Crum has been named the Big South Conference Freshman of the Week, announced by the league today (Monday, Apr. 7).

Crum picked up his second win of his freshman campaign on the bump as Asheville hung on for a 4-3 win at Winthrop on Sunday (Apr. 6). Crum (2-0) picked up the win in his first career start, firing a career-high seven innings scattering five hits surrendering just two runs with three walks and five strikeouts.

This is Crum's first career Freshman of the Week honor. The Greensboro, N.C. native is a sports management major.

The Bulldogs return home on Tuesday (Apr. 8) to host Queens (N.C.) in non-conference action wrapping up the season series. First pitch is set for 5:00 p.m. from Greenwood Field, with video and live stats available at www.uncabulldogs.com.
