Bulldogs Cruise Past Presbyterian for Key Conference Win

CLINTON, S.C. - UNC Asheville Women's Tennis cruised past Presbyterian for a 6-1 key Big South Conference win on Wednesday (Apr. 2).
 
The Bulldogs took two of three matches in doubles play for the doubles point, before winning five of six singles matches to secure the win.
 
Louise Booker and Avery Sager started things off with a 6-1 win at No. 3 over Madison Dennett and Elle Sceney, before Ari Siegel and defending Big South Conference Freshman of the Week Keira Stewart beat McKenzie Davis and Marry Ellen Longmire 6-3 at No. 2 to clinch the doubles point.
 
Elizabeth Tindera blanked Dennett 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 to start things in singles play, before Stewart would beat Sceney 6-1, 6-2 at No. 5. Booker clinched the match at No. 4 with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Valentina De Sousa, before Alexis Nyborg beat Davis in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1. Valeria Centeno would polish things off with a 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 6 over Longmire.

First serve is set for 1:00 p.m. from the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown, with Ari Siegel's Senior Day recognition taking place after the match. The Asheville Tennis Association will be hosting a tailgate for fans with free food and drinks!
