CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Women's Tennis took down Queens (N.C.) for a 6-1 non-conference victory on Saturday (Mar. 8). Â

Asheville won two out of three doubles matches for a 1-0 lead, before winning five of six singles matches to seal the victory. Valeria Centeno and Elizabeth Tindera picked up a forfeit at No. 3 doubles, before Avery Sager and Louise Booker secured the doubles point with a 6-2 win over Nyanyuie Tomegah and Jett Coetzee at No. 2. Keira Stewart would pick up a forfeit win at No. 6, before Booker would blank Audrey Serb 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4. Tindera would take care of Coetzee 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3, before Centeno dispatched Tomegah 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5. Angelina Joy Hug would finish things off for Asheville at No. 2 with a 6-3. 7-6 (7-0) win over Andreea Onitoiu.
