Bulldogs Cruise Past Queens (N.C.) for Non-Conference Win on Friday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Men's Tennis cruised past Queens (N.C.) for a 6-1 non-conference win at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown on Friday (Mar. 7).

The Bulldogs took two out of three doubles matches to secure the doubles point, before winning five out of six singles matches for the victory.

Sai Gandepalli and Griffin Lovern got things started in doubles play with a 6-1 win over Jake Grimes and Luke Coppage at No. 3, before Olle Sonesson Lidholt and Cian Ingles defeated Laurenz Blickwede and Gavin Ryan 6-4 at No. 2 to take the doubles point. Murray made it a 2-0 match with a 4-1 win by retirement over Blickwede, before Gandepalli beat Ryan 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4. Ingles would dispatch Lukas Gosselin 6-3, 6-1 at No. 5, before Lidholt would grind out a 4-6, 6-1, 10-7 win over Jan Montero Diaz at No. 3. Tarek Erlewein polished off the win for Asheville at No. 2 with a 7-6 (7-1), 5-7, 10-7 win over Steveker.
