Bulldogs Shut Out Mars Hill at Home on Friday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Men's Tennis shut out Mars Hill 7-0 at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown on Friday (Feb. 21).

Asheville took two of three matches to secure the doubles point, before going on to sweep singles play. Griffin Lovern and Tarek Erlewein took care of Diell Mehmedi and Emiel Tidman 6-1 at No. 2, before Trevor Gray and Sai Gandepalli beat Collin Maides and Ishmael Dowuona 6-3 at No. 3 to clinch the doubles point. Gandepalli started singles play beating Mehmedi 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4, before Ollie Sonesson Lidholt took care of Tidman 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3. Erlewein clinched the match at No. 2 with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Paul-Antonie Pelzer, before Murray took care of Sasha Molina 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1. Cian Ingles polished off the shutout with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Yasen Kehayaminchev 6-0, 6-2 at No. 6.
