ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Women's Tennis will welcome three signees for 2026-27 in what will be the program's second season under head coach Jeff Maren.

Lauren Chutka joins the Bulldogs as a four-star recruit from Cumming, Ga. where she is the No. 8 player in the state for the class of 2026. She has posted a 38-14 record in sanctioned tournaments this year, as well as finishing third in doubles play at the Southern Closed Championships.

"Lauren impressed me this summer with her calm demeanor on court, and her ability to control her emotions in order to remain in control of her matches," said Coach Maren. "We are excited to welcome her to our family and believe that she will help us to grow as a team!"

"I chose UNC Asheville because of the pretty campus, great academics, high-level competition and the coaches," said Chutka. "I am looking forward to helping the team to compete for conference championships! UNC Asheville felt like home during my visit and I'm so grateful to be a part of the Bulldog family!"

Chloe Collins joins the Bulldogs from Dublin, Ireland after a solid career in her home country. She was a finalist in the Irish National Championships in U-18 singles in both indoor and outdoor and also represented Ireland in both the U-18 European Summer Cup and the U-16 European Winter Cup. She won Irish national double titles in both U-16 and U-18, while also winning two ITF doubles titles.

"Chloe has tremendous character and is very motivated to maximize the gifts that she possesses!" said Coach Maren. "She will bring energy and fight to our roster and will certainly represent UNC Asheville in the best possible way! I can't wait to see her on the courts with us next year!"

"I chose UNC Asheville because from the very first time I spoke with Coach Maren and Coach Duncan I knew it was a perfect place for me!" said Collins. "I can't wait to get on court with them and benefit from their coaching experience, to improve my game and be part of the team! It was a very easy decision for me and I am thrilled to be starting next fall with the girls!"

Victoria Lopez comes to Asheville from Luque, Paraguay where she is ranked No. 240 in the ITF World Junior Rankings. She reached the semifinals of singles play in Paraguay's J200 circuit, while also being a finalist in singles play in Brazil's J100 circuit. She was a doubles winner in Peru's J100 circuit, and was a finalist in the tournament a second time. She also represented Paraguay in the Billie Jean King Cup twice and also represented her home country in the Junior Panamerican Games.

"Victoria is a fighter, and I love players who give everything they have regardless of the circumstances!" said Coach Maren. "She will bring a great work ethic and desire to maximize her abilities!  We can't wait for Victoria to join us next fall!"
