Volleyball Hosts Winthrop and Gardner-Webb for Final Home Games

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville volleyball team will host its final two matches in the Justice Center this weekend (Nov. 7-8), as the Bulldogs face Winthrop on Friday and Gardner-Webb on Saturday.

A LOOK AT THE EAGLES
Winthrop sits at the top of the Big South Conference alongside High Point at 9-2 in league play. The Eagles lead the conference in five categories: points (16.82), assists per set (12.38), hitting percentage (.230), kills per set (13.49), and opponent service aces (1.13).
Avery Jolley leads the league in kills with 3.69 a set and points, averaging 4.22 a set.

A LOOK AT THE RUNNIN' BULLDOGS
Gardner-Webb is 3-8 in league play, and the Bulldogs swept the Runnin' Bulldogs on Oct. 10 in Boiling Springs. Gardner-Webb leads the league and the nation in digs, averaging 18.31 a set (1,904 digs on the season). They also lead the league and the nation in team attacks per set (39.96) and total team attacks (4,156). The Runnin' Bulldogs are No. 1 in the league in assists (1,164), kills (1,245), aces (155), and blocks (214.5).
Nalani McBride leads the league and is No. 2 in the nation in digs per set at 5.67. She is No. 1 in the country in digs with 590. Milla Lugo is No. 1 in the league in total blocks with 108.
BULLDOG BITES
The Bulldogs enter this week following a 1-1 weekend, having swept Radford on Friday (Oct. 31) but fell to High Point in straight sets on Saturday (Nov. 1).
Albertine van der Goot led Asheville with 14 kills and was followed by Baylor Herlehy with 10. Payton Rolfsen had 28 assists, and Selina Koc had 19. Ana Djurovic and Addie Brookbank each had a team-high three aces, and Michelle Thao led the team with 27 digs.
Asheville leads the Big South in blocks per set (2.25). Michelle Thao is No. 2 in the league in digs (437) and digs per set (4.91).
