Volleyball Travels to USC Upstate for Final Big South Regular Season Match

A LOOK AT THE SPARTANS
USC Upstate is 7-6 in league play and 14-12 overall. The Spartans come off a 1-1 weekend, defeating Gardner-Webb in four sets on Friday (Nov. 7) before falling to Winthrop in four sets on Saturday (Nov. 8).
The Spartans are fourth in Big South standings. They lead the conference in service aces per set (1.65) and are third in kills per set (12.84). The Spartans are also third in assists (11.93 avg/s) and hitting percentage (.208).
USC Upstate swept the Big South weekly honors for the team's efforts last weekend. Ady O'Grady was named Player of the Week, Kamyla Vega David was named Setter of the Week, and Sophia Overholt received Libero of the Week and Freshman of the Week honors. Vega David leads the conference in assists, averaging 10.35 per set and 1060 total assists on the season. Summer Kohler is No. 3 in kills (3.55 avg/s) and O'Grady is No. 4 (3.39 avg/s).
The Bulldogs defeated the Spartans in five sets in the Justice Center back on Sept. 26 in the Big South opener.
BULLDOG BITES
The Bulldogs enter this week following a 1-1 weekend, having fallen to Winthrop in four on Friday (Nov. 7) before sweeping Gardner-Webb on Saturday (Nov. 8).
Kylie Cackovic and Ana Djurovic both tallied 19 kills on the weekend, while Albertine van der Groot tallied 17. Djurovic also added 29 digs and five aces, tying the team high with three aces against Winthrop (Nov. 7). Setter Payton Rolfsen tallied 24 assists on Friday (Nov. 7), and Selina Koc tallied 20 on Saturday (Nov. 8). The setters combined for a total of 79 assists on the weekend.
The Bulldogs are currently sitting in fifth in the Big South standings. Asheville leads the conference in blocks (2.25 avg/s) and is No. 3 in service aces per set (1.55). Michelle Thao is third in the Big South in total digs (469) and digs per set (4.89).
