Women's Soccer Drops Conference Match at High Point on Saturday

HIGH POINT, N.C. - UNC Asheville Women's Soccer dropped its Big South Conference match at High Point on Saturday (Oct. 18) by a score of 2-0.

The teams played a back and forth first half that saw High Point out-shoot Asheville 15-8 and earn three corner kicks while Asheville had none.

High Point struck twice in the span of five minutes part way through the second half to secure the home win. Bella Burr scored her third goal of the season in the 58th minute, before scoring again in the 62nd minute to bring the match to its final score.

Asheville totaled 12 shots in the match, including two on frame. Lili Adams led the way with four shots in the contest, while Shae Hassig and Georgia Duke each had two with Hassig matching her career-high. Kathleen Doane and Akari Kishida each had one shot in the match, with Doane matching her career-high. Gracie Murray made two saves between the pipes.

The Bulldogs return to action next Saturday (Oct. 25) at Longwood in Big South Conference action. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. from Farmville, Va. with video and live stats available at www.uncabulldogs.com.
