Volleyball Hosts High Point and Radford in Justice

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville volleyball team returns to the Justice Center this weekend to host High Point on Friday (Oct. 17) and Radford on Saturday (Oct. 18).
MATCH PROMOTIONS
Friday's match is "dark mode". Fans are encouraged to wear black Asheville attire to cheer on the Bulldogs against High Point.
Saturday's match is Asheville's "dig pink" game. Wear pink to cheer on the Bulldogs as they support Breast Cancer Awareness.
Students, make sure to scan your Rocky Card as you enter Justice to be entered to win a TV.

A LOOK AT THE PANTHERS
High Point is 7-8 overall and 4-1 in league play. The Panthers went 2-0 last weekend, defeating Charleston Southern in three sets and Presbyterian in four.
The Panthers are second in the Big South in blocks per set (2.23), third in kills per set (12.24), and fourth in assists per set (11.40). High Point is also No. 3 in hitting percentage with a .204.
Freshman Maya Bukovcan was named Big South Co-Freshman of the Week for the second time this year on Monday (Oct. 15). Bukovcan leads the Panthers in blocks with 73, and is second in the Big South in blocks per set (1.26). Bukovcan is No. 2 in the Big South in hitting percentage (.383). She finished last weekend with 17 kills, five blocks, and two aces.

A LOOK AT THE HIGHLANDERS
Radford 7-12 overall and 3-2 in Big South play. This past weekend, Radford went 2-0, defeating Presbyterian in three sets and Charleston Southern in four. Radford is No. 3 in the conference in total blocks (144) and No. 4 in total service aces (105).
Sierra Moore leads the Highlanders in service aces with 24 on the season. Olivia Ryno leads in kills, with 143, ranking her eighth in the Big South. Ryno tallied 11 kills against Presbyterian on Friday (Oct. 10) and 10 kills against Charleston Southern on Saturday (Oct. 11).
BULLDOG BITES
The Bulldogs enter this week following a 1-1 weekend as Asheville defeated Gardner-Webb in a three-set sweep on Friday (Oct. 10) before falling to Winthrop in three sets on Saturday (Oct. 11). As a team, Asheville tallied 40 kills, eight aces, and 11 blocks in three sets against Gardner-Webb. Kylie Cackovic led the match with 13 kills and 12 digs. Albertine van der Groot added five blocks, and Alison Goldberg added four in the match.
On the weekend, Cackovic tallied 21 kills and 19 digs. Setter Payton Rolfsen tallied 46 assists and 10 digs, while Libero Michelle Thao added 37 digs and six assists. Albertine van der Groot led the Bulldogs with seven blocks and 13 kills across the weekend's matches.
Asheville leads the Big South in blocks with 164, averaging 2.41 a set. Michelle Thao is second in the Big South in digs per set (5.12), while Kylie Cackovic is No. 4 in the Big South in kills with 212. Ana Djuorvic is No. 4 in the conference in aces per set (0.34).
