Freddy Murray to Represent Ireland at the Davis Cup This Weekend

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Men's Tennis senior Freddy Murray will represent Ireland in the upcoming Davis Cup this weekend (Jan. 31-Feb. 1).

The tournament will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia as Ireland takes on the host Saudi Arabian team.

Murray is off to a phenomenal start in his senior season, starting 3-0 in both singles and doubles play as the Bulldogs are 3-0 on the season.

"Freddy is very proud to represent Ireland and we are proud of him for consistently being given this honor," said Bulldog head coach Matt Frost. "The Davis Cup is the highest level of team competition we have in our sport, what a great chance to learn and grow as a tennis player and teammate!"

Play begins on Friday, Jan. 31 at 11:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time and 8:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time on Saturday, Feb. 1.

The Bulldogs (3-0) return to action on Feb. 8 to host Tennessee Tech in non-conference action. First serve is set for 3:00 p.m. from the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown.
