Bulldogs Pick Up Two Wins on Friday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Men's Tennis picked up two wins on Friday (Jan. 24) at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown, beating Lenoir-Rhyne 5-2 and King (Tenn.) 7-0.
Asheville opened play against Lenoir-Rhyne taking the doubles point with two wins, before winning four out of six singles matches to take the win. Sai Gandepalli and Cian Ingles picked up the first win of the day with a 6-1 win over Zachary Cox and Lucas Galy at No. 3, before Freddy Murray and Olle Sonesson Lidholt beat Mattias Selde and Nevio Dux 6-2 to clinch the doubles point. Freddy Murray defeated Vadym Rogynskyi 6-1, 6-3 at No. 1 singles, before Tarek Erlewein clinched the match with a 6-0, 7-6 (7-4) win over Cox at No. 3. Ingles went on to beat Galy 6-2, 6-4 at No. 6 before Luke Ruecker closed things out with a 6-3, 3-6, 10-7 win over Burke Rosenbaum at No. 5.

Erlewein would start singles play with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Danny Neleman at No. 2, before Murray beat Meshel 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1. Lidholt would go on to beat Tajima 6-4, 6-1 at No. 3, before Ruecker would beat Halcrow 6-3, 6-3 at No. 4. Lovern took care of Roham Chalisgaonkar 6-1, 6-2 at No. 6, before Trevor Gray polished off the shutout with a 6-3, 7-5 win over Caetano Luzzi at No. 5.
