Bulldogs Record Second Straight Shutout, Farrar Collects 200th Career Save in Draw at Bellarmine

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - UNC Asheville Men's Soccer recorded its second straight shutout and senior goalkeeper collected his 200^th career save as the Bulldogs came away with a 0-0 draw at Bellarmine on Saturday (Sept. 7).

Asheville has now recorded back-to-back clean sheets in the second straight season, and the 10^th time in the program's Division I era.

The teams held tight in their respective defensive ends through 45 minutes, with Asheville outshooting Bellarmine 7-5 and Farrar making four saves in the period.

Bellarmine logged seven shots in the second half to Asheville's six, with neither team ultimately finding the back of the net. In total for the match, Asheville outshot Bellarmine 13-12. Asheville also edged Bellarmine 5-4 in corner kicks in the contest, with three coming in the first half and two in the second half. Louis Beckett, Brendan Herb, Seth Hammond and Aysa Hamid each registered three shots in the match, while Edvin Grolimund also had one. Farrar registered a season-high nine saves between the pipes, just one shy of his career-high. The effort marked his second shutout of the season, fifth in a Bulldog uniform and 13th of his collegiate career.

The Bulldogs (2-1-1) return to action on Tuesday (Sept. 10) to host Wofford in non-conference action for Inclusion Night and Bark in the Park. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. from Greenwood Field, with live stats available at www.uncabulldogs.com.
