Volleyball Opens 2024 Season at West Georgia

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville volleyball team travels to Carrollton, Georgia, on Friday as the Bulldogs open their season in the University of West Georgia Tournament.
SCHEDULE & MATCH NOTES
Friday, Sept. 6
Asheville vs. West Georgia | 12 PM
- This will be the first time Asheville has faced West Georgia in program history. The 2024-25 season is West Georgia's first year as a NCAA Division I program.
- West Georgia enters their home tournament 2-1 after starting their season by competing in the Gamecock Classic, hosted by Jacksonville State.

Asheville vs. Georgia State | 6:30 PM
- Friday evening's match against the Panthers will be the first time the two teams have faced each other since 1995. Georgia State holds a 4-3 record over the Bulldogs.
- Georgia State opened its season last weekend as the Panthers hosted a home invitational and went 1-2.

Saturday, Sept. 7
Asheville vs. Morgan State | 11 AM
- This will be Asheville and Morgan State's first matchup in 10 years. Their first and only match happened in September 2004, and Asheville won 3-0.
- Morgan State opened its season with the Bears' co-hosted home invitational with Towson. The Bears went 0-4.
