CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville freshman forward Mercedes McNabb has earned Big South Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors, announced by the league today (Monday, Sept. 23).

McNabb had a historic performance in UNC Asheville's 7-2 win over South Carolina State on Sunday (Sept. 22), as the Bulldogs scored the most goals in a single game since a 10-2 rout of The Citadel back on Oct. 17, 2001. McNabb netted the program's first hat trick since Skylar Chillson on Apr. 4, 2021 and is also the first freshman to score a hat trick since Paige Trent in 2012.

This is McNabb's first career Player of the Week honor. She is a native of East Maitland, Australia.

The Bulldogs return to the pitch on Saturday (Sept. 28) to open Big South Conference play against Charleston Southern on Alumni Weekend. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. from Greenwood Field, with video and live stats available at www.uncabulldogs.com.
