Women's Soccer Drops Thursday Night Tilt to Wofford

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Women's Soccer dropped a Thursday night (Sept. 12) tilt to Wofford at Greenwood Field by a score of 2-0.

Wofford went ahead in the first half with a goal in the 19th minute, before a goal in the 61st minute would bring the match to its final score.

Asheville out-shot Wofford 15-12 in the match, although Wofford held the 8-7 edge in shots on goal. Asheville outworked Wofford for corner kicks 4-1 in the first half and 6-3 in the second half for a match total of 10-4. Mercedes McNabb, Kylie Kroese and Nao Kawasaki each posted a team-high three shots in the match, with McNabb and Kroese each notching a new career-high. Manuela Schreier and Julia Hüsch each had two shots in the match, while Addie Cooper and Akari Kishida each had one. Alison Little posted six saves in 90 minutes between the pipes.
