Cross Country Opens 2024 Season at Covered Bridge Invitational

ASHEVILLE, N.C - The UNC Asheville cross country teams will open their 2024 season in Boone, North Carolina, for the Covered Bridge Invitational this Friday (Aug. 30). The women will be first to the start line for their 5k race at 10:00 a.m., followed by the men's 6k race at 10:40 a.m.
Friday will mark the seventh year the Bulldogs have competed in the Covered Bridge Invitational since 2017. Last season, the men finished in third place with 86 points, and the women finished in sixth with 22 points. Asheville will compete alongside nine other teams, including three Big South Conference teams: USC Upstate, Winthrop, and the women's 2023 Big South Champions High Point.
Ten Bulldogs will make their collegiate debut on Friday, alongside 12 returners who represented Asheville last season.
