Women's Soccer Earns 2023-24 United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - UNC Asheville Women's Soccer has earned the 2023-24 Team Academic Award, announced by United Soccer Coaches today (Thursday, Aug. 1).

A total of 237 college women's soccer programs earned the award, while UNC Asheville is one of 102 schools to have both its men's and women's programs earn the award this year. This is the ninth Team Academic Award honor in program history for Asheville Women's Soccer, and the first back-to-back years of earning the award since 2017-18. To receive the honor, a program must post a team grade point average of at least 3.0.

On the year for UNC Asheville Women's Soccer, the Bulldogs posted a team GPA of 3.54 for the year with a 3.57 GPA in the Fall 2023 semester and a 3.61 GPA in the Spring 2024 semester. Asheville landed 23 on the 2023-24 Big South Conference Presidential Honor Roll, while six players also earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors.

The Bulldogs open up the 2024 campaign on Thursday, Aug. 15 at The Citadel. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m. from Charleston, S.C., with video and live stats available at www.uncabulldogs.com.
