WGOLF Signing Day 2023

Women’s Golf Signs Caroline Patterson

05.08.2024 | Women's Golf

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's golf program has signed transfer Caroline Patterson, as Head Coach Ross Cash announced on Wednesday.

"The coaching staff is proud and excited to announce the signing of Caroline Patterson to the Bulldog golf program," says Cash. "Caroline is as driven and dedicated as any young lady I have ever encountered. She elevates our program instantly and, in my opinion, could become the best golfer to ever play in the Big South Conference after her two years here are finished. Caroline will assuredly be a model student-athlete during her time here, and after she graduates from UNC Asheville, she will undoubtedly be seen each week on TV on the LPGA tour. She is a generational talent and an even better person. We welcome her to Bulldog Nation."

Patterson is transferring from the University of Tennessee, where she played two seasons.

At Tennessee, Patterson played in 13 tournaments, 39 rounds and averaged a 74.03. She had four top-25 finishes during her freshman campaign, and her lowest round was a 67 that she shot in the second round of the Clemson Invitational in the spring of 2023. In the 2023 NCAA Regionals, Patterson posted a 54-hole score of +7 and finished tied for 43rd. She earned SEC Freshman of the Week honors in March of 2023.

Prior to college, Patterson qualified for the U.S. Women's Amateur in 2022, finished third at the Florida Girl's Junior Championship in 2021, and placed fifth at the AJGA Arnold Palmer Invitational in 2021.
