Madyson Gold Named Big South Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville women's golf senior Madyson Gold has been named the Big South Conference Women's Golfer of the Week, announced by the league on Thursday (April 11).
Gold placed third in the Brickyard Collegiate this past week with a three-round score of 219. Gold shot a 75 in the first round and closed the tournament with a 72 in rounds two and three. Over the 54-hole tournament, Gold recorded eight birdies and was one of eight golfers out of the field of 52 to shoot par or lower in the third round of play.
This is Gold's third career Women's Golfer of the Week honor. The Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. native is a mass communication major with a double minor in psychology and new media.
The Bulldogs return to action next week (April 14-17), competing in the Big South Conference Championships at the Ocean Creek Golf Course at Fripp Island.
