Women’s Golf Finalizes Round One of Bama Beach Bash

GULF SHORES, Ala. – After only completing a portion of round one on Sunday due to weather, the UNC Asheville women's golf team finished its first round of the Bama Beach Bash on Monday with an opening round score of 298.

The Bulldogs are 10-over par and tied for third among the 17-team field. Sam Houston leads the field at 4-over par, and Austin Peay is second at 5-over. The Bulldogs are tied in third with Oral Roberts.

Phoebe Carles and Beryl Giletti lead Asheville at 1-over par (73) and are tied in 10th.

Madyson Gold and Claudia Salvador are 4-over par and tied in 31st.

Hailey Pendleton is 6-over par and tied in 45th.

Asheville combined for eight birdies, with Salvador leading the way with three. Giletti and Salvador scored birdies on hole one, and Salvador and Pendleton recorded birdies on hole nine.

Due to the weather that impacted day one, the tournament has been shortened to 36 holes, with the final round on Tuesday, March 19.
