Pendleton records career-low round; Bulldogs enter final round in seventh

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The UNC Asheville women's golf team opened its 2024 spring season on Monday at the Rivertowne Invitational. After two rounds of play, the Bulldogs enter the final round in seventh.
Asheville shot a 297 in round one and a 294 in round two to combine for a two-round score of 591. The Bulldogs are three shots behind USC Upstate and High Point, tied for fifth.

WHERE THE BULLDOGS STAND
Leading the Bulldogs is Madyson Gold, who is tied in 18th after shooting rounds of 76 and 71. Gold enters the final round of play 3-over par.
Beryl Giletti is tied for 31st at 5-over par. Giletti shot a 75 in round one and a 74 in round two.
Phoebe Carles follows closely behind at 6-over par and is tied in 36th. Carles shot rounds of 76 and 74.
In her Bulldog debut, Claudia Salvador enters round three, tied in 42nd after shooting 77 and 75. Salvador is 8-over par.
Hailey Pendleton opened her spring campaign with a career-low, shooting a 70 in round one. Pendleton recorded three birdies during her opening round. She enters Tuesday in 62nd with a two-round score of 156 and is 12-over par.
Asheville combined for 22 birdies on day one, with 12 in the first round and 10 in the second. Salvador led Asheville with four in round one, and Gold recorded four in round two.
Asheville will return for the final round of play in the Rivertowne Invitational tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb. 26.
