LAST TIME OUT
Asheville opened its season on Monday at No. 2 Alabama and fell to the Crimson Tide 110-54. The Bulldogs' top performers on Monday were Jordan Marsh (13 pts, 6-for-17), Toyaz Solomon (11 pts, 4-for-7, five rebs), Kameron Taylor (10 pts, 4-for-7), and Sage Tolentino (six pts, six rebs).
Taylor became the first freshman to score double-figures in a season-opening contest since the freshman trio of Tajion Jones, Coty Jude, and Devon Baker did to begin the 2018-19 season.
SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
Ohio dropped its season opener on Monday. The Bobcats faced James Madison and fell 88-78. Junior forward Aidan Hadaway led the Bobcats in the opener, scoring 17 points.
The Bobcats were picked first in the MAC Preseason Poll, earning 11 of the 12 first-place votes. Ohio returns eight players from last year's roster while bringing in two transfers and five freshmen.
SERIES HISTORY
Saturday will be the third time the two teams have met, with Ohio holding a 2-0 series lead. The last time they met was on January 4, 2014.
ROAD TRIP CONTINUES
Saturday marks the second of Asheville's seven consecutive road games to begin the 2024-25 season. Earlier this week, Asheville announced the addition of two home games in December, as the Bulldogs will play Bluefield University on December 11 at 4:30 p.m. and Columbia International University on December 30 at 6:30 p.m. Despite not having any home contests in November, Asheville will play inside Kimmel Arena six times in December.
