Bulldogs Close Regular Season with Two Matches Against USC Upstate

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The final week of Big South regular season action is here and the UNC Asheville Bulldogs will be facing USC Upstate to close out league action. Asheville will first travel to USC Upstate on Tuesday (Nov. 12) at the G.B Hodge Center before facing the Spartans on Saturday (Nov. 16) in the Justice Center.

BULLDOG BITES
Asheville went 0-3 last week, falling in five sets to Gardner-Webb and three sets to Winthrop both times the Bulldogs faced the Eagles.
In Asheville's match against Gardner-Webb, six Bulldogs recorded career highs, with several recording multiple. Payton Rolfsen had a double-double, recording career-highs with 56 assists and 17 digs. Michelle Thao had a career-high with 38 digs. Kylie Cackovic had three career-highs with 24 kills, 24 points, and 18 digs. Kimberly Czepukaitis also had a career day with 15 kills, and Ana Djurovic had a career-high with 16 kills and 17 digs. Catherine Hubiak had a career day with 17 digs as well. Czepukaitis led the team with a .565 hitting percentage.
Asheville's 120 digs against GWU ties the program record for most digs in a five-set match.
Cackovic enters the final week of action at No. 3 in the league in kills and points with 266 kills (3.41 avg/s) and 299.5 points (3.84 avg/s). Thao is second in the league with 29 service aces (0.37 avg/s). She is No. 6 in the league in digs with 361 (4.63 avg/s). Lydia Pate and Kimberly Czepukaitis are on the blocks leaderboard at No. 7 and No. 10. Payton Rolfsen is No. 6 in assists at 523 (6.71 avg/s)
INGLES I-26 RIVALRY
This week's matches are part of the Ingles I-26 Rivalry Series, with each win earning the winning team three points in the competition. Asheville currently leads the series 9-3, following higher finishes at the Cross Country Championships on Nov. 1 for both the men and women and Asheville men's soccer beating USC Upstate on Nov. 2.

A NOTE TO FANS ATTENDING UPCOMING HOME EVENTS
Saturday's Nov. 16 match for Asheville will be the Bulldogs' senior day.
As we continue to navigate the ongoing status of water in the Asheville area, porta johns will be available for fans to use, as bathrooms in the building will not be available. The porta johns will be located in the Student Recreation Plaza to the left as you exit the building.
