Bulldogs Roll Past Tusculum on Sunday for Second Straight Shutout

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Men's Tennis rolled past Tusculum by a score of 7-0 in non-conference action on Sunday (Jan. 28) at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown. It marks the first back-to-back shutouts for the Bulldogs since last season when Asheville blanked UNC Greensboro and Longwood by identical scores of 7-0 on Mar. 29, 2023 and Apr. 2, 2023 respectively.
Asheville picked up the doubles point with two wins in doubles play, before sweeping singles play for the shutout victory.
Cian Ingles and Bruno Serra started things off with a 6-2 victory over Sarthak Sharma and Ivan Ivars at No. 3 doubles, while Jon Brann Reid and Rafa Serra teamed up for a 6-2 win over Nemanja Subanovic and Anton Krodell at No. 1 to secure the doubles point. Sam Nicholson defated Krodell 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 to start singles play, before Freddy Murray beat Subanovic 6-0, 6-4 at No. 1. Jon Brann Reid went on to beat Will Gee 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3, while Tarek Erlewein beat Rens Verhaar 6-2, 7-5 at No. 4. Rafa Serra went on to beat Sharma 6-4, 6-2 at No. 6, before Bruno Serra polished off the shutout with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Yuki Ikeda at No. 5.
