Bulldogs Blank Young Harris for Frost's First Win as Head Coach

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Men's Tennis blanked Young Harris 7-0 on Saturday (Jan. 27) at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown, for Matt Frost's first win as the head coach of the Bulldogs.
Asheville swept three doubles matches for the doubles point, then went on to sweep all six singles matches, dropping one set on the day en route to the shutout victory.
Jon Brann Reid and Rafa Serra teamed up to blank Rodrigo Mendoza and James Bixby 6-0 at No. 1 doubles, while Tarek Erlewein and Bruno Serra beat Caleb McCurry and Eric DelValle 6-1 at No. 2. Sam Nicholson and Freddy Murray completed the doubles sweep with a 7-6 win over Mason Harmon and Michael Schut at No. 3. Murray went on to beat Mendoza 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, while Nicholson beat Bixby 6-4, 6-1 at No. 2. Reid upended Harmon 6-1, 6-4 at No. 3, while Erlewein beat McCurry 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4. Cian Ingles beat Gregor Gottein 3-6, 7-6 (4-0), 1-0 (5-0) at No. 5, before Brunno Serra polished off the shutout with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Schut at No. 6. Â
