Phoebe Carles Named Big South Conference Women's Golfer of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville senior Phoebe Carles has been named the Big South Conference Women's Golfer of the Week, announced by the league today (Thursday, Sept. 14).
Carles picked up her first career individual tournament title earlier this week at William & Mary's Kingsmill Intercollegiate, only the second individual tournament title in Asheville's program history. Carles shot 72-72-72 to go even all three rounds, turning in a total of 216 marking the third-lowest 54-hole total in program history. Her performance helped Asheville to a second-place finish in the tournament as the Bulldogs turned in an 899, the fourth-lowest team 54-hole total in program history.
This is Carles's first career Golfer of the Week honor, and her second career weekly honor from the Big South (Freshman of the Week - Feb. 11, 2021).
The Clinton, S.C. native is a mass communication major.
