Anna Doane Named Big South Conference Defensive Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -Â UNC Asheville junior defender Anna Doane has been named the Big South Conference Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the league today (Monday, Sept. 11).
Doane helped Asheville to its fourth shutout of the season in a 0-0 draw with The Citadel on Thursday (Sept. 7), before her first career goal helped Asheville earn a 2-2 draw with Mercer on Sunday (Sept. 10).
This is Doane's first career Player of the Week honor. Doane is a native of Jackson, Mich.Â
