Lexi Dooley, Karlee Benz Collect Big South Conference Weekly Awards

FULL BIG SOUTH CONFERENCE RELEASE
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville junior goalkeeper Lexi Dooley and freshman forward Karlee Benz collected weekly awards from the Big South Conference, announced by the league today (Monday, Aug. 21).
Dooley was named the league's Defensive Player of the Week, while Benz was named Co-Freshman of the Week.
Both players shined in the 1-0 win over VMI on Sunday (Aug. 20), as Dooley collected a career-high six saves and her first career shutout and Benz netted the game-winner off an assist from Ava Bjorkman-Tracy in the 75th minute for her first collegiate goal.
This is the first career honor for both Dooley and Benz.
Dooley is a Shamong, N.J. native, and an atmospheric science major with a minor in math.
Benz is a Waxhaw, N.C. native, and a psychology major.
