06.07.2023 | Women's Soccer
ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Women's Soccer revealed its 2023 schedule today (Wednesday, June 7), for the program's third season under head coach Andy McNab. Â Â
The Bulldogs open the season against rival Western Carolina on Aug. 17, before embarking on a three-match road swing to VMI (Aug. 20), Davidson (Aug. 24) and South Carolina State (Aug. 27). The Bulldogs are back at home for four in a row against Wofford (Aug. 31), Furman (Sept. 3), The Citadel (Sept. 7) and Mercer (Sept. 10). The Bulldogs conclude non-conference play at Morehead State on Sept. 14, before starting Big South play at USC Upstate on Sept. 23. Asheville is home for the next two against Presbyterian on Sept. 27 and Longwood on Sept. 30 for Senior Day, before starting the month of October on the road at Radford (Oct. 4) and Gardner-Webb (Oct. 14). The Bulldogs will host Winthrop on Oct. 18, before traveling to Charleston Southern on Oct. 21 and finishing up the regular season on Oct. 25 against High Point.
"I couldn't be more excited for what the 2023 season may hold for UNC Asheville women's soccer," said McNab. "With the addition of a strong 2023 class to the solid unit that we have returning, we believe this could be a successful fall on the field. The Big South portion of the schedule will be difficult and challenging as always, and the non-conference schedule compiled is full of competitive matches that should be tightly contested, which is exciting to look forward to."
The season opener against Western Carolina is set for 6:00 p.m. from Greenwood Field. Video and live stats will be available at www.uncabulldogs.com.
