ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Women's Golf revealed its 2023-24 schedule today (Monday, June 5), for the program's second season under head coach Ross Cash.

The Bulldogs recorded eight top-five finishes in 2022-23, including a run of five straight. Asheville also notched its first-ever individual tournament champion in Madyson Gold, who currently holds several program records. The team turned the program record book upside down this past season, setting a new season scoring average record (304.97), improving its best national ranking in program history 50 spots (147) and also set a new single-season birdies record (246). The team also set a new low round record (286) in the third round of the Jupiter Women's Invitational, and also set new program records in par five scoring (5.2124), par four scoring (4.3715) and par three scoring (3.300). The team also tied the program record for eagles in a single-season (three) and set a new program record for finish percentage in a season at 61.4 percent, breaking the previous record by more than 17 percent. The team also improved its win loss record from 40-74-1 last year to 82-53 this year.

The season begins at the William and Mary Fall Invite from Sept. 10-12, before the Bulldogs travel north for Ball State's Brittany Kelly Cardinal Classic from Sept. 17-19. Next on the schedule is UNC Greensboro's Grandover Invitational from Oct. 8-10, before the Bulldogs will travel for the biggest trip of the year to Hawaii's Rainbow Wahine Invitational from Oct. 22-25. The Fall 2023 season concludes with Asheville hosting the French Broad Collegiate Invitational Oct. 29-31 at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove.

The Spring 2024 slate begins at Charleston Southern's Rivertowne Intercollegiate from Feb. 25-27, before the Bulldogs head south for UAB's Alabama Beach Bash from Mar. 16-19. Asheville will then head east to Panama City, Fla. for Lipscomb's Lady Bison Classic from Mar. 21-24. Asheville will then conclude March and start April at the Golfweek Intercollegiate from Mar. 31-Apr. 3, before taking on Mercer's Brickyard Collegiate from Apr. 8-10. The Big South Conference Championships will take place at the Ocean Creek Golf Course at Fripp Island from Apr. 14-17.

"I am really looking forward to the season," said Cash. "We have a bunch of new events that we got invited to after last year's season that will be a great test of where we are. Obviously, the big date circled on the calendar is the Rainbow Wahine which will have a field that includes several Power Five schools. Our roster has a few new faces on it and everyone is putting in the summer work on their golf games, so we will be ready."
