Dylan Bacot & Ryan Douglas Earn Big South Weekly Awards

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Big South Conference announced on Monday that UNC Asheville's Dylan Bacot was named the Conference's Player of the Week, while fellow Bulldog Ryan Douglas took home the League's Starting Pitcher of the Week honors for games played between February 27-March 5.
Bacot hit .412 (7-of-17) with a 1.059 slugging percentage, three home runs, and 15 RBI last week against Charlotte and Iona. He collected multi-hit games with a home run in each of the first three games of the week and collected three-plus RBI in each of his four games last week.Â
Douglas struck out 11 over seven innings, scattering five hits in UNC Asheville's 11-1 win over Iona on Saturday. He didn't walk a batter in the outing with only two baserunners reaching scoring position against him. His 11 strikeouts against the Gaels were also a career-high.Â
The Bulldogs will be back in action on Wednesday when they welcome Boston College to Greenwood Field. First pitch is set for 4 p.m. on ESPN+.
