Men's Tennis Set to Travel to East Tennessee State for Wednesday Non-Conference Clash

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville men's tennis is set to travel to East Tennessee State for a non-conference clash on Wednesday (Mar. 1). First serve is set for 2:00 p.m. from the Dave Mullins Tennis Complex in Johnson City, Tenn.

About the Bulldogs - The Bulldogs come into the matchup at 5-3 overall after a 4-3 win over Wofford back on Feb. 23. The Bulldogs have posted a 12-6 combined doubles record so far on the year, while also having a combined 25-20 record in singles play on the season. Harry Thursfield and Sam Nicholson lead the way in doubles play with five wins, while Jon Brann Reid and Rafa Serra have four wins and Bruno Serra and Chester Wickwire also have two wins in doubles play. Thursfield and Reid also have one win as a doubles team on the year. Freddy Murray leads the team in singles wins with six, while Thursfield and Nicholson each have five wins in singles play. Reid has three wins in singles play, while Tarek Erlewein and Rafa Serra have two and Wickwire and Bruno Serra each have one.

About the Bucs - East Tennessee State comes into the matchup at 2-8 overall and 1-0 in the Southern Conference after a 4-3 win over Samford on Sunday (Feb. 26). The Bucs own a combined 6-14 doubles record on the season, as well as a combined 7-37 combined singles record. Peter Kalocsai and Thiago Pernas lead the way in doubles play with four wins, while the tandems of Dimitri Badra and Dadam Nagoudi and Pedro Cressoni and Francisco Lamas each have one win in doubles play. Badra and Pernas lead the way in singles play with two wins apiece, while Lucas Britez, Cressoni and Juan Lobisano each have one win in singles play. 

Series History - This will be the third all-time matchup between Asheville and ETSU, with ETSU leading the all-time series 2-0. ETSU won the last matchup between the programs 6-1 back on Mar. 5, 2022.
