KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The UNC Asheville swimming & diving team finished fifth at the 2023 Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Swimming & Diving Championships on Saturday with a final point total of 791. The fifth-place finish marks the fourth consecutive season that the Bulldogs have finished fifth or better at the CCSA Championships.
"A four-day conference meet is always a different beast than the regular season," said UNC Asheville Head Coach Elizabeth Lykins. "The conference provided incredible competition in every event and truly elevated all teams. The team earned four NCAA Provisional Cuts, most in program history, reset seven freshmen records and broke 14 school records this season. Our staff is extremely proud of the team member's hard work, determination and dedication this season." Â
Morning Session Recap – Asheville began the final day of the CCSA Championships with several stellar performances. Seven Bulldog swimmers finished high enough in their events to qualify for the evening swims.

The other record that fell for Asheville was in the 200-yard backstroke. Nora Segurola, who held the record already, bettered her own time down to 1:58.01.
