DAY THREE RESULTS
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The UNC Asheville swimming & diving team continued their stellar week at the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association Championships. The Bulldogs logged several lifetime-best performances and saw some school records broken and a few others nearly matched.

Heading into the final day of the Championships, the Bulldogs currently sit in fifth place with 609 points. Asheville is just three points away from fourth place where Florida Gulf Coast is with 612 points. Liberty (1,006.5 points) overtook James Madison (901 points) for the top spot and Queens remained in third with 767 points.

"My goal for this conference meet is to stay present and soak it all in," said senior Nora Segurola. "It is such a pleasure to swim with such an incredible group of women. I feel privileged to be a part of this team."

Morning Session Recap – Asheville had a stellar morning session on Friday. Overall, 12 swimmers advanced to one of the three final races later in the day. There were also three lifetime best times during the session on Friday morning.

Beatrice Cocconcelli continued her stellar freshman season by breaking the school record in the 100-yard individual medley with a time of 58.60. She wasn't the only standout as Mikaela Fullerton achieved a NCAA 'B' Cut in the 100-yard breaststroke for the second straight year with a time of 1:01.44. With her time, Fullerton ranked third in the prelims heading into the evening session.

Evening Session Recap – The Bulldogs continued to improve in the evening session. Four different Bulldogs logged lifetime best times in their events.

In the 800-yard freestyle relay there was another highlight. The team of Caitlin Hefner, Cocconcelli, Segurola, and Anna Marcotti placed fourth with a time of 7:26.14. The time of 7:26.14 ranks as the second-fastest by any Bulldog foursome in program history.

The Bulldogs will close out the CCSA Championships on Saturday. The prelims will begin at 10 a.m. with the finals to follow at 6 p.m. Both of these sessions can be seen on the Big South Sports Network.
