ASHEVILLE, N.C. –  The UNC Asheville Athletic Department announced an innovative partnership Thursday with Bank of America serving as the Official Partner of Rocky the Bulldog. Rocky is UNC Asheville's fearless mascot and can be found at most Bulldog athletic events as well as many community events and functions. This year, Rocky will be sporting a new uniform that features Bank of America branding. In addition, Rocky will become a staple at Bank of America events focused on providing financial literacy resources and other community engagement opportunities.

"I want to thank Andy Nadeau, April Brown, and the entire Bank of America team for entering into this exciting, new, and creative relationship with Bulldog Athletics," said Director of Athletics Janet R. Cone. "Bank of America is an industry leader locally and nationally for good reason, and we are proud to be entering into this partnership with a corporation whose values and priorities align so directly with ours."

Along with being the official partner of Rocky the Bulldog, Bank of America will also be the official partner of Cone's quarterly luncheons with community and business leaders at UNC Asheville. Through this partnership, Bank of America and UNC Asheville will strive to increase brand visibility while making a difference in our local community through financial literacy programming and spotlighting local community partners through on-court check presentations during basketball season.

"UNC Asheville leads the way in providing excellent higher education and training programs throughout Western North Carolina and beyond," said Andy Nadeau, President of Bank of America Asheville. "We are excited to partner with the university's athletic department to bring Rocky the Bulldog to even more community events and to integrate UNC Asheville pride into our financial literacy outreach and programming."

Rocky the Bulldog recently appeared with local Bank of America leaders to announce Umoja Health, Wellness & Justice Collective as the 2023 Neighborhood Champion in Asheville. Through the Neighborhood Champions program, Umoja Health, Wellness & Justice Collective leadership will be provided virtual leadership training delivered by experts in the nonprofit sector and receive grant funding of $50,000 over the next two years.
