Women's Soccer Drops League Contest at Radford on Wednesday

RADFORD, Va. - UNC Asheville Women's Soccer dropped its Big South Conference contest at Radford on Wednesday (Oct. 4) by a score of 4-1.
The teams played a scoreless first half, with each team totaling five shots and one corner kick in the frame.
Radford would come alive in the second half, posting three goals before Asheville would break up the momentum with a goal of their own. Daysha Chaney would score her second of the season off an assist from Azalea Mihailovich in the 80th minute to get Asheville on the board in the match. Radford would add another goal in the 82nd minute to bring the match to its final score.
Each team totaled 14 shots in the match, with Asheville putting six shots on frame. Asheville also edged Radford 4-3 in corner kicks in the match. Taylor Gardner posted a match-high five shots in the contest, while Ava Bjorkman-Tracy also tied a career-high with two shots in the contest along with two from Kaiya Boyd. Anna Doane, Mihailovich, Shae Hassig, Chaney and Ashley Macfarlane each had one shot in the match for Asheville. Gracie Murray (4-3-3) posted four saves in the match.
The Bulldogs (5-3-4, 1-2-1) return to the pitch on Sunday (Oct. 8) at South Carolina State. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m. from Willie Jeffries Field at Olliver C. Dawson Stadium in Orangeburg, S.C.
