Madyson Gold Named Big South Conference Women's Golfer of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville women's golf senior Madyson Gold has been named the Big South Conference Women's Golfer of the Week, announced by the league today (Friday, Oct. 27).
Gold posted a -1 215 in her last outing at Hawaii's Rainbow Wahine Invitational, finishing in a tie for 12th. She posted rounds of 70 (-2), 76 (+4) and 69 (-3) in the tournament. Her 215 is the second-lowest individual 54-hole total in program history, while the team posted an even-par final round of 288 tying the lowest team round in program history. In addition, the team's 54-hole total of 900 (+36) was the third-lowest total in program history.
This is Gold's second career Women's Golfer of the Week honor. The Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. native is a mass communication major, with a double minor in psychology and new media.
The Bulldogs are back in action next week (Oct. 30-31) to host the French Broad Collegiate Invitational at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove. Play begins Monday with a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start.
