Women's Soccer Drops Conference Tilt at Gardner-Webb

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. - UNC Asheville Women's Soccer dropped its Big South Conference tilt at Gardner-Webb on Saturday (Oct. 14) by a score of 1-0.
Gardner-Webb would strike for the only goal in the match in the 25th minute with Megan Gettys's fourth of the season. Asheville out-shot Gardner-Webb in the first half 8-6 despite Gardner-Webb scoring the only goal.
Asheville would out-shoot Gardner-Webb 4-3 in the second half, but the Bulldogs were unable to break one through on Gardner-Webb's defense.
Asheville won the total shot count in the match 12-9, along with a 6-5 edge in shots on goal and four corner kicks. Ava Bjorkman-Tracy paced the Bulldogs with a career-high four shots in the match, while Azalea Mihailovich, Julia Hüsch and Kaiya Boyd each had two shots in the match. Barrett Eidson and Daysha Chaney each also had one shot in the match for Asheville. Gracie Murray (4-4-3) made four saves in the match.
