Women's Basketball Drops Big South Conference Contest at Campbell on Saturday

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - UNC Asheville women's basketball dropped its Big South Conference contest at Campbell on Saturday (Jan. 7) by a score of 64-40.
The Bulldogs battled through to the final horn, eventually out-scoring Campbell in the fourth quarter 18-17 and 22-19 off the bench in the game.
Dakota McCaughan led the Bulldogs with nine points, while Millie Brown matched career-highs in points (six) and three-pointers made (two) and McKinley Brooks-Sumpter also had six points in the game. Mallory Bruce chipped in five points, while Nycerra Minnis and Abigail Wilson each had three and Faith Adams, Jordaynia Ivie, Jamaya Blanks and Jamia Blake each had two. Bruce led the rebounding effort with six, while Blanks had five and Wilson had four. Ivie pulled down three rebounds in the game, while Minnis, Brooks-Sumpter, McCaughan and Brigman each had two. Brown also matched a career-high with two assists in the game, while Brooks-Sumpter, Bruce, Ivie, Blanks, McCaughan and Brigman each had one. Adams and Bruce each had two steals in the game, while Ivie also had one. Minnis, Blanks, Wilson and Brown (first of her career) each had one block in the game.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday (Jan. 11) on the road at Longwood in Big South Conference action. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. EST from Farmville, Va. with video and live stats available at www.uncabulldogs.com.
