Volleyball adds Makenzi Searcy to its recruiting class

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville Head Volleyball Coach Frederico Santos announced Thursday the signing of Makenzi Searcy to his team's recruiting class for the upcoming 2022 season. Searcy joins fellow signee Pelin Aksoy as the newest Bulldogs that will be on the court for Asheville this fall.

Makenzi Searcy – Outside Hitter – 5-10 – Rutherfordton, N.C. (R-S Central High School)
  • Posted 1,180 kills during her high school career
  • 2020-21 Player of the Year in North Carolina
  • All-State selection
  • All-Conference
  • Team MVP
"Makenzi is a great addition to our program," Santos said of Searcy. "She is very athletic and has a very high ceiling. A fierce competitor who will be fighting for a starting spot on the Outside. We can't wait to see Makenzi compete with us this fall."
