Golf completes day two of Any Given Tuesday Invitational

PAWLEY'S ISLAND, S.C. – After having just two golfers finish round one on Monday due to light, the UNC Asheville Women's Golf team was able to get all golfers to finish their first two rounds of Golfweek Any Given Tuesday Invitational on Tuesday.

Although four teams were not able to finish their respective second rounds due to light Tuesday, Asheville sits in sixth place overall and is second among teams that have completed two rounds.

After not being able to complete her round Monday, Venecia Zaia turned in a 2-over-par 74 with birdies on hole No. 12 and 14. After a double at the beginning of round two, Zaia birdied hole No. 3 and shot an even-par 35 on her last nine to finish with a 3-over-par 75 and sit T-15 entering Wednesday.

Phoebe Carles turned in an opening-round 77 with a birdie on hole No. 11, opening up her second round going even through the first 10 holes, ultimately finishing with a 1-over-par 73 to jump 22 spots in the standings (T-18).

Hailey Pendleton, who carded a 78 Monday, matched that same score in round two, while Madyson Gold shot a round-one 76 and a round-two 82.
