Asheville Tennis alums Rees and Brobeck meet for match Friday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Former UNC Asheville men's tennis teammates met on the court today, but this time it was as opposing head coaches as Tom Rees and Jonas Brobeck coached their respective women's tennis squads in Incarnate Word and Northwestern State.Â
Graduating from UNC Asheville in 2012, Rees and Brobeck played for head coach Lise Gregory before getting into coaching.Â
Rees was a key singles player for the Bulldogs, earning All-Academic status in 2012, competing on the ITF circuit before getting into coaching.Â
Brobeck, meanwhile, accumulated 36 wins during his tenure at Asheville and finished his last season at the No. 1 double flight and would jump right into coaching after graduation, beginning at Morehead State and Kentucky.Â
