Golf wraps up day one of Low Country Intercollegiate

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The UNC Asheville Women's Golf team opened up play at the Low Country Intercollegiate on Saturday at the Moss Creek Golf Club on Hilton Head Island,
UNC Asheville posted a score of 318 in round one, shaving four strokes off its score in round two. The Bulldogs currently sit in 11th place with the final 18 on deck Sunday.
Venecia Zaia shot a 6-over-par 78 in round one, registering birdies on holes No. 2 and 12. On her second 18 of the day, Zaia carded the lowest individual round for Asheville on the day with a 3-over-par 75 to sit in a tie for 27th place going into Sunday.
Phoebe Carles opened up with a 77 in round one, birdieing hole No. 10 before posting a round-two 81 with a birdie on No. 7. Hailey Pendleton matched Carles' score, opening with an 80 but bouncing back with a 78 in the second. Madyson Gold would round out the scoring for the Bulldogs.
