Women’s Basketball returns to Kimmel Arena Saturday to host Gardner-Webb

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Following a two-game road swing, the UNC Asheville women's basketball team will return to Kimmel Arena on Saturday as it welcomes in rival Gardner-Webb. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m., and the game can be seen on ESPN+.
Last Time Out – Asheville dropped a 70-60 decision on the road at Campbell last Wednesday. The loss drops Asheville's record to 7-14 overall and 2-8 in Big South action.
Evans explosive as ever – One definite bright spot for the Bulldogs against Campbell was the performance by Nadiria Evans. Evans scored a season-high 33 points on a 12-for-20 effort from the field against the Camels. With that 30-point outburst, Evans has topped the 30-point mark three times this season after doing the same during the 2020-21 season.
Blake & Blocks – Another highlight for Asheville on Wednesday came from sophomore Amanda Blake. Blake totaled a career-high four blocks against the Camels. The four blocks were not only a season-high for any Bulldog but were also the most for a Bulldog in a game since March 6, 2019, when Brooke Jordan-Brown totaled seven blocks vs. High Point.
